This of course can then become complicated and overwhelming if we don't have a compass to give us some direction and focus. Without a compass or map, how do we know where we are and which way we want to go to get there? And where is there? There can be found in your intentions. There can be found in your naming your subject and your theme. What is your dream, your intention with your writing? Write about that. What is the subject of your main project? It's theme? Write about that. Meaningful writing insists on a vulnerability. Even coming to the page for ourselves in our earlier drafts, we may discover a discomfort, an edge of intimacy and vulnerability with ourselves. (Here is a Youtube lesson on subject, theme and vulnerabilities given through the Oregon library. Stay longer, and check out my other youtube talks and meditations: HERE ) What feels most vulnerable about your writing? (or in your writing?). Write about that. Want to be part of a tribe of writers? To explore where you want to take your writing? Join one of my Writer's Circles starting up again in June. I have only a few openings in my Tuesday or Wednesday night circles. (1st Tuesday evening of the month; 2nd evening Wednesday of the month). The Tuesday night one is in person; the Wednesday night on is live on ZOOM. Or sign up for a mentorship program with me, which includes a bonus of a morning Writer's Circle. Openings for mentoring program start in June, 2022. Want to Write that book? Here is what you need! Promises fulfilled to put you on a clear path to satisfying your writing intentions that include a completed manuscript. 2-day intensive! Save the dates: Live on Zoom. June 30th at 7:00 PM till Saturday at 4:00 PM. More details and to REGISTER: HERE. Limited to 12 writers. For many of us we write in journals, take endless notes, jot down starts to numerous stories. All my books come from a collection of notes to myself, handwritten journals, scraps of paper and published blogs. My first book, written and published back in 1989, would not have gotten published had I not found a way to bring all my ideas and notes together. Each book had its unique template, its own map. Find yours in this Write-by-the-Light INTENSIVE. (If you have taken my Write-by-the-Light or WBTLake retreat in the past this can be a great reboot! Or you may have another idea/manuscript to apply these methods to).
