"My work with Julie has been transformative for me. Her mentoring style is deeply insightful and she has patiently guided me to find my inner voice. As my stories developed, Julie would notice the pivotal moments, (better than I could ) and coax more of that. That style made me more confident and trusting to the process. I’m a better writer now, because of her encouragement and nurturing feedback. I’m grateful for what she gave me." –In appreciation, Bob, 2019-2020, Sherpa-mentoring
"When I signed up for Write by the Lake, I knew I wanted to write a book, but I didn’t have a clear idea of what the book would be about. I signed up for Julie’s memoir writing course and bought her book, The Zero Point Agreement. As soon as I read the first page I knew I had chosen the perfect teacher (Sherpa) for me. Julie’s teaching style is encouraging and heartfelt, and over the course of the week my mindset shifted from writing as an indulgent hobby to an act of self-expression and service that can actually change the world. Julie’s guided processes and interactive writing prompts took me from idea to a template for my entire book within the week. I now have a completed manuscript that is ready to publish, and much of the writing I did at WBTL is in my book! Julie provides tools and insight that you will take with you for your entire writing life after the week long class. I am forever grateful that because of Julie and her compassionate teaching style, I am now a writer. " –Molly Chanson, MA, Yoga Instructor, author. (The book she worked at WBTL was published 2022 through Shanti Arts. https://www.shantiarts.co/landing_books.html

"My first one to one consult with Julie went beyond my expectations. Julie identified areas that fell short of good communication with the reader. She massaged and enhanced my clarity of message in numerous ways. I left expanded about what was possible for my book and filled with ways to improve my writing. And, I felt I had a true ally in my quest to write well and publish." –Rev. Jody Whelden, Board Certified Chaplain, Retired, Speaker & Author: Heart Centered Intuitive Living. www.jodywhelden.com

There is no one formula to writing, but you can create an architecture to which you can write, and, create a lifestyle in which you find yourself writing. There are no universal rules to the craft, but there are principles you can use to write. My main focus as your Writer's Sherpa is to help turn your meaningful experiences into a meaningful read. Whether you are increasing your awareness and creativity through journal writing, working on a book idea, want to increase your creative energy, or want to know how to get published, I am here to guide you.

“Julie Tallard Johnson is a master mentor. She is incredibly skilled at pointing you in the right direction at the right time; offering resources that not only help but inspire; helping you find whatever it is you need within your own being; and being true to her own authentic being. Julie walks her talk like no one else I know: her integrity is impeccable. I’ve used her books for guidance, participated in her workshops and courses, been mentored, and had individual sessions with her. All of them helped me immensely in getting to know myself, being true to my soul’s calling, living an authentic existence, and even loosening up! I don’t know what I did in a former life to get to work with Julie, but I am just grateful I didn’t pass up the opportunity. I give her my highest recommendation.” ~ Prudence Tippins, poet, teacher
"I would have given up a long time ago had it not been for Julie." Richard, 2020
"Julie is the Writer's Sherpa in every way possible. Sometimes the love is tough but I have gotten past a lot of resistance because of her being with me on this writing path." –Sam King, 2021
"Thank you so very much for your comments and suggestions. They are so valuable and so appreciated. I hadn’t realized that I was writing a memoir, and maybe that’s the reason I got stuck. I didn’t want to revisit my experience with Peter ad-nauseum, which is why I put it aside. But if I reframe this as my story as you suggest, he’s only one part of it. The thought of it blows me away. Thank you again, dear Writer's Sherpa. Amy, Write-by-the-Lake, 2019
