You will become an initiated writer with a strong foundation to your life journey on the page. As an Initiated Writer you will have found a true place in your words and stories and an inner path to return to again and again to continue your writing.
After you sign up and register I will send out the Welcome Letter with questions and prompts to get you started. After you respond to the welcome I will send you your first session. Each time you finish one session and send me your 4 pages, I will respond personally to your pages and send you the next session. You will have 6 months to finish the class material. After you send me the pages for session #5 (the final session), I will send you the final INTEGRATION lesson. Any time after you send me your completed 5th lesson, you can send me up to 10 pages to critique (within the 6 month deadline). Ideally you do a session a month.
As an Initiated Writer you will have a story for future readers.
I had been offering the Initiation Course for over 10 years and later put together a book proposal based on this year-long course. A publisher accepted it, so then I had to get to work translating this material into a book, The Wheel of Initiation. A book that readers can use as a personal transformative experience. Now I offer this course as an Initiatory journey for the Writer, here. Each book I have written has had its own initiatory journey of myths, symbols, metaphors, allies, thresholds and awakenings. For the Wheel of Initiation I used the medicine wheel, the Initiation wheel, and the myths associated with Initiation. In my most recent book, the Clue of the Red Thread, I use the template and myths of the labyrinth and the inner journey. I have written 11 books using the explorations and practices I offer you in this class.

Life is without meaning
You bring the meaning to it
The meaning of life is
whatever you ascribe it to be.
Being alive is the meaning.
~ Joseph Campbell, author and mythologist
I joined Julie’s writing circle with a wisp of an idea and no book writing experience. Nine months later, I had completed manuscript. Julie lives the Writer’s Life. A gifted and generous teacher, she transmits what she has learned in her 25 years of writing and publishing to her clients and groups. Julie’s coaching and the atmosphere she created in the writing circle provided the perfect environment for my writing. I highly recommend Julie’s Writing Circles, Writers’ Days, and Writeshops.–Natalia Erehnah, author of Swan Mothers: Discovering Our True Selves by Parenting Uniquely Magnificent Children www.swanmothers.com
"I had no idea what I signed up for, which was likely a good thing. This was on every possible level an initiation into my writing. What came alive in me and on the page was remarkable: myths that guide my life and writing, symbols the describe who I am and what I am trying to say. I was writing about the damage to the ecosystems of certain wildlife and found answers here I couldn't find in my scientific research. Do you want to initiate yourself as a writer? This is a place that can happen, it did for me." John P. Smith
