Transpersonal Counseling
My approach taps into where the client needs movement now in their life and what may be blocking ones movement in their creative and personal life. These sessions are an hour and a half and can include breath work as well as recapitulation (getting energy back that was lost to past agreements). My sessions are participatory in that the client too taps into a place of inner wisdom and leaves renewed as well as aware of what action she or he will take to continue the growth or healing process.
Through their own awareness clients identify agreements that need to be broken in order to bring forth more of their true nature. Clients are also given some breath and meditation practices that will facilitate the needed movement through states of resistance. I listen and work with the psychophysical dynamics of the mind, body and spirit and use the many techniques I have acquired over my thirty years of personal and professional practice.
A little background -- I began my transpersonal work in the late 1980s in Minneapolis Minnesota, where I received training in cognitive-behavioral sciences, RET, psychic development, Holotrophic and shamanic breath work, depth psychology, NLP, indigenous ceremonies, Vipassana meditation and narrative therapies. Since taking the Bodhisattva vow in 1995 I focus my energies on walking this path each day. In 2006 I gave up my more traditional psychotherapy practice and fully embraced the path of transpersonal counselor and teacher. I ended my agreements to view difficulty in life as some flaw or pathology in the individual but rather as a time of opportunity for growth and healing. As a traveler myself, I place emphasis on my own day-to-day practice. I do not make suggestions to others that I am not practicing myself.
I look forward to the possibly of our working together and hold the intention that this encounter uplift us both.
