August 13th and 14th - - University of Wisconsin-Platteville Office of Continuing Education offers Turning Inward: Using Guided Visualizations and Meditations for Inspiration, Creativity and Learning. One Credit.

Location: Thundering Cloud’s Center for Creative Expression, LLC Spring Green, WI.

While visualization and imagery techniques are used widely in sports, health care and business, many teachers are not given these teaching tools and techniques. There is substantial research demonstrating that creative visualization and meditation serve as powerful and easy tools to raise a student’s ability to learn.

Teachers are presented with an eclectic array of techniques from cognitive psychology and the narrative therapies applied to classroom learning. This diverse collection of practices offers them increased insight, creativity, relaxation and the ability to stay focused “on task.” Creative writing exercises, along with other tools to enhance the brain’s ability to focus and create, are also offered. All the techniques and exercises will be practiced within the course. The target audience includes teachers K through 12th grade.

Experience Personal Initiation with an intention through spiritual journaling Bindu Breathwork, personal ritual and a shared purification ceremony (sweat lodge).

Initiate your intention, and create needed movement in your life. Retreat begins at 10:00 am and ends after the sweat lodge ceremony. Sweat lodge will be around 6pm. This class is for anyone wanting to develop their psychic abilities further. I have worked to help people trust the gifts they inherited at birth for the past 30 years. Whether it is developing your intuitive abilities, trusting you sense of reality, or empowering your psychic gift, this class will take you further with all these. I offered Intuitive Development Classes in Minneapolis and then in Wisconsin from 1990 to 2001.

In 2003 I authored the book Teen Psychic: Developing Your Spiritual and Intuitive Powers. In 2009 I will be authoring a book for adults on psychic development (The Gift You Were Born With: Bringing Forth Your Psychic and Spiritual Powers), with journaling as a means to develop this precious skill. All of my work is about bringing forth the gifts we hold inherently within us and developing them to further our personal and planetary evolution. Increase the trust in yourself and your experiences with the energetic world. Through meditations, journaling exercises, various trance states, breath work, recapitulation, insight practices, and the Wheel of Initiation your relationship with energy and your psychic gift will evolve. Develop your other skills as a writer, healer, teacher, artist, physician and musician through the practices in this class.

As a Transpersonal counselor Julie is trained and practiced in a variety of mind-training techniques (Rational Emotive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Lojong practice, Conscious Journaling techniques, Narrative therapies, mindfulness meditation and NLP). She will use an eclectic array of these practices in this dynamic class. She is also trained in methods that one can use to stay enthused and focus about health and weight loss. You may use this process along with an existing health practice or on its own.
